Garry
Head of Centre
Has been involved in outdoor education since 1994, during which time he has gained a great deal of experience in both personal and instructional roles. He is a Level 4 Kayak Coach, a RYA Coach Assessor, SPA and ML holder and an RYA Power Boat Instructor. His spare time is spent running rivers, sailing & developing his kite surfing skills.
Annie
Deputy Head
Is a qualified teacher holding an Honours Degree in PE and Sports Science. She has been involved in outdoor education for many years and brings a wealth of experience to the team. Annie is a RYA Senior Instructor/Coach Assessor and holds a variety of other awards in canoeing, kayaking and mountaineering.Her spare time is spent on the water, in the hills, socialising with friends, & with her partner & young children.
HARRY
DEPUTY HEAD
Harry grew up in the lake district climbing cliffs, sailing, and paddling rivers not just locally but all over the world. He holds many outdoor qualifications including a degree in the subject, but he is currently working towards his WMCI, CIC and the BCAB advanced canoe awards. The rest of the time he is still climbing and paddling as well as new ventures into Wing foiling, kite skiing/surfing and paragliding.
Harry is a big believer in the growth and development that can be gained through adventure and loves that his job helps to facilitate that for thousands of people.
Campbell
Tutor
Has worked as a freelance tutor in a number of outdoor centres over the years, where he has gained a vast amount of experience. He is an MIA, BCU L2 coach, Mountain Bike Instructor and an RYA Dinghy Instructor. Most of his spare time is currently spent competing in various road races and time trials.
Rachael
Tutor
Has worked in a variety of outdoor centres in the Lake District since 2000. She is a keen & active sailor, kayaker & kite surfer. In addition she is an accomplished horse woman. She holds her RYA Senior Instructor, BCU L2 canoe & kayak coach, ML & SPA.
Sarah
Tutor
Sarah has been involved in the outdoors since 2003. She holds her summer ML, SPA, RYA Senior Instructor & BCU L3 kayak & L2 canoe award. Sarah spends her spare time walking, kayaking, canoeing & sailing with her husband & young son. She is currently working her way through the Munros.
Ian
Tutor
Has worked as a freelance tutor for a number of years and many years ago was an apprentice tutor here. He now holds a wide range of qualifications including RYA Senior Instructor, RYA Power Boat Instructor, MIA and BCU level 3 canoe and kayak coach. Whenever he is not working he will be found juggling his time between his young family and various canoe or mountaineering trips.
Alex
Tutor
Joined us in January 2010. He is a Geography graduate. Alex is a keen & accomplished windsurfer and kitesurfer. He holds his RYA dinghy instructor award & has previously taught sailing & windsurfing. Alex is now an Advanced Dinghy Instructor & Senior Instructor, and a Start windsurfing Instructor level 1. In addition he also holds his ML & SPA.
Steve
TUTOR
Steve has been a tutor here previously. He left twelve years ago to work in variety of other outdoor centres, but rejoined us in January 2020. Steve brings a wealth of experience to Water Park.
He is RYA senior instructor, a windsurf instructor, summer mountain leader, BCU L3 coach. Much of his spare time is spent sea kayaking.
SARAH
Tutor
Sarah has lived and worked as an instructor in the lakes for 21 years. She started alongside Garry at Water Park in June 2000. Left in 2002 to freelance and gain experience in other centres and areas. Sarah loves being in the mountains, especially in winter, sea kayaking expeditions and mountain biking. If she is not out and about she is at home working in the garden.
IMOGEN
TRAINEE TUTOR
Imogen has enjoyed coming to the Lake District with her family since she was young and also visited Water Park multiple times with her school. Imogen loves being in the outdoors and trying new sports. She is looking forwards to learning and improving her skills through her traineeship here at Water Park.

TRAINEE TUTOR
Ed has worked at a couple of outdoor centres since leaving home, completing an apprenticeship in outdoor activity delivery and a degree in Outdoor Leadership with the university of Cumbria. He enjoys rock climbing, wild camping and bushcraft in his free time and holds various paddlesport qualifications. He is keen to learn a lot from the highly experienced tutorial team and challenge his skills of session planning and delivery.
Jenny
Office Manager
Jenny has been with Water Park since we started and has a vast knowledge of the centre. She runs the office & the domestic side of the centre. She deals with all invoices and is generally the voice at the end of the phone. Jenny and her husband run a sheep farm just down the road from the centre.
Becka
Head Housekeeper
Becka joined our team in March 2019. In between raising three young children she also finds time to work on the family farm.
LOUISE
HOUSEKEEPER
Louise is part of our housekeeping team. Louise is also a hairdresser 3 days a week and a volunteer/lead for Rainbows and Brownies. She loves spending time with her two children, enjoys swimming in the lake and spending time in the outdoors when she can.
JOAN
HOUSEKEEPER
Joan joins the housekeeping team after working for the NHS for 40 years. Now she helps out at a local charity baking cakes and loves spending time with her Grandchildren

Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Loves being outdoors, walking her dogs, gardening and baking. She also helps out on the farm and loves lambing time.

Head Chef
Caz is our head chef. Prior to joining us she had been chef at a number of other local outdoor centres. Her spare time is spent travelling, walking her dog and enjoying her grandchildren.

Assistant Head Chef
Kate joined us in November 2016 as the third member of our chef team. Kate works here three days a week and various weekends. She has a young family who all enjoy spending time in the great outdoors.
Jimmy
Estate Manager
Has been with the Eric Wright Group for many years. He is now based at the centre and keeps everything functioning and the grounds looking neat and tidy. Jimmy is a keen gardener himself & grows a fine array of vegetables.
DAVID
Estate Manager
Dave’s a retired teacher who has always had a keen interest in the outdoors. He ran the D of E Award in his last school and led student expeditions to countries including Iceland, Nepal and Malaysia. In his spare time he loves to go fell walking, canoeing and cycling and he and his wife enjoy going off for adventures in “Angus”, their VW camper.
Jonah
Estate Manager
Jonah is our newest recruit to the grounds team. Jonah has a level 2 diploma in land based engineering and technology which includes all types of welding and engine maintenance. During Jonah’s previous employment he has become proficient in electrical, plumbing, timber processing and can drive just about anything!
In Jonah’s spare time, Jonah is a network commissioner for the scouts and volunteers his time to run activities and he is also on the Keswick to Barrow Charity Planning & Logistics committee showing that Jonah shares a passion for adventure.
EMILY
ASSOCIATE TUTOR
Emily has been involved with Waterpark since 2021, where she was a trainee for two years. Gaining her RYA Dinghy Instructor, Paddlesport Leader and RCI, she left Waterpark behind to head to the land down under and explore the outdoor industry in Australia. After leading expeditions in the Aussie bush for 12 months she decided there was no place like home, and returned back to Waterpark as an Associate Tutor. Emily is keen to continue to develop her skills and work towards more qualifications. She spends most evenings sailing or more recently learning to Wing Foil.
